UNDER THE AUTUMN SUN
The annual Sorghum Festival is the 4th Saturday in October and was orginated by the Wewoka Rotary Club in 1976. It has grown to become an Oklahoma attraction drawing people near and far.
The Seminole Nation Museum grounds will host sorghum mill demonstrations throughout the day, complete with a vintage mill that uses mules for power. Watch as the sorghum cane is ground on the mill and the juice from the cane is boiled down into syrup. Old-fashioned artisans will demonstrate tool and soap-making, among other things.
